A happy sales increase in May
Sales for the month of May rose higher than forecasted levels showing that consumers did have more cash in their wallets thanks to the US government’s rebate checks that had been distributed. According to the US Commerce Department, there was an increase in retail sales that was more than double of what was expected by economists on Wall Street. On average sales rose 1.2% as compared to the 0.7 % forecasted by economists, even considering the higher prices for gasoline. One of the only sectors that did not see an increase was the automobile sector.

One of the most popular marketing techniques is the use of promotional products such as clocks, pens, T-shirts, USB drives and so on. A company can make good headway creating promotional products with its logo to distribute on a trade show, seminar or other event as these things do make an impact. While they are quite a common approach to marketing, the trick is to use them with the right products, so that they fit the customer profile and can be used effectively and productively. These are especially great for the immediate local market area as they will make a direct connection to the business. th

Lately I’ve been trying to take photographs that are bit different from my usual stuff. It is all too easy to get stuck in a rut and not even look for new angles and opportunities to take photographs. I’m very new to this, in fact my camera is a small and cute digital one, that is not manufactured by any of the camera greats, but I really have started to enjoy taking shots that are different, and not even necessarily pretty. Having this camera has opened up the world to me like never before, both physically and mentally and I can’t imagine why I didn’t get started earlier. Here’s one of the slightly different shots that I took some time back.

Our neighbor is a keen home improvement enthusiast and is always working on some project or the others. Lately, he is planning to install some new vinyl siding that will do well in both the heat and the cold of the desert. With the temperatures soaring and falling quite a bit, insulating the home from all the elements is especially important out here. Getting work done on one’s home is quite organized out here as there are lots of really good contractors who will finish the job on time, will not overcharge and will guarantee their work for a good amount of time. So, it really is a pleasure to make some changes and improve things around the house, unlike in places where you end up tearing your hair out just to get some very basic work done. Here, it actually is a fun job.

Tesco is said to be redoing its Fresh & Easy design format to create a warmer image for it’s new stores in the US. The existing 61 stores which have a very basic and functional look and layout will be given a more colorful look and signage. The changes have been made due to a customer survey conducted in the stores. According to Lucy Neville-Rolfe, corporate and legal affairs director for Tesco, consumers reactions have been “very strong” regarding changing the look of the stores. She added that, “We’ve been working on brighter stores, better ranging, signage – the sort of things we always do when we move into a new market.”
Tesco first opened its Fresh & Easy format in Novemnber 2007, stopping in April 2008 to get feedback from customers about the stores. The stores will still have their clean look, but the design has been changed slightly. Tesco will also be adding 250 products from its own in-house label, including items such as juices and ready made meals.
“Tesco took a break in order to tweak a few things,” said Planet Retail grocery research manager Natalie Berg. “The concept is hugely innovative, but, as other supermarkets in the US are full of signage and promotions, the Fresh & Easy stores can look a little stark in comparison.”

I wrote about increasing the memory on my laptop some time back but didn’t mention that if you are looking for some additional memory then look no further than these micro sd cards which are the smallest and the most versatile memory cards in the world. You can get them in a range of capacities from 2GB to 8GB and better still come with a 30 day money back guarantee, a lifetime warranty and free shipping on the same day that you order. What could be better? Nothing else is needed actually! Since I work from home, I have a lot of files and documents stored on my computer and this is the best way to supplement th existing memory.

The great thing about new technology is not only that it is constantly upgrading itself, but also that you can make changes to it as you go along. Say that you bought the state of the art computer a few years ago, but you’re now running short of memory but don’t want to have to buy a whole new system. All it takes is to buy memory and add it to your existing one and you’re done. As someone who works on the Internet and the computer all the time, I find that something like this really comes in handy. I have a lot of documents stored on my computer, that I need to keep for a long time, even though I really do not need to access it on a daily basis, and this has been the perfect solution for me.

Sphere: Related ContentA handy tool to have
I’m looking for a new phone, a new cell phone to be specific. Ideally, I would like to have email, a GPS system, music and photo storage etc on the phone, and I’m hoping to get one just like that in my price range. Having a GPS is really important since I travel quite a bit and it really comes in handy. Even locally, one will use it quite often, since we’re still new to a lot of areas of town and would really like to explore more of the area. The kind of technologies that are now available is quite amazing and one must take advantage of using them in our daily lives, since that is really that they are made for, to make our lives simpler. Besides giving directions, a good GPS also keeps track of altitude, distance traveled, time taken and so on, which are all great tools when one is traveling.
