Selecting a photo utility software

After downloading the Adobe Album Photo Starter, I decided to go back to using Picassa, which I was already familiar from before. Picasa makes it easier to edit pictures and to create new folders and albums so you can create smaller versions of albums to friends and family, instead of the entire album. I uploaded all my pictures in Picasa and created a new album of select photographs of the wedding that I can now send to those who were not there.

I like the basic Adobe photoshop, but quite frankly have been a bit disappointed with this Photo Album Starter that I downloaded a week or so back. Even the photo’s that it auto fixed are not that great and I had to go in and redo lots of the pictures manually. Lets hope that I like Picasa better this time round. My favorite one is actually Flickr, but unfortunately it does not work in this part of the world, so its of no use to me for the time being.

Tesco opens in the US

UK supermarket giant Tesco opened its first store in the US in Los Angeles, under the name Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market in the city of Hemet. Another 5 stores will be opening in the Los Angeles area on November 8th this year. Tesco will be opening over 120 stores under the Fresh & Easy brand in the US, in LA, Las Vegas, Phoenix and San Diego, and analysts and shoppers are watching and waiting with great anticipation.

According to Terry Leahy, CEO of Tesco, opening up the US market is “the opportunity of a lifetime”, and predicts that its US brand Fresh & Easy could match up to Tesco’s UK business. The company has estimated an investment of 250 million GBP (or 521 million USD) per year for its US business. Besides Wal-Mart, Tesco is competing with the organic supermarket company Whole Foods Market, which has been known for its innovative methods of reaching out to customers.
